Nothing's Wrong — Your Season Just Changed Why the routines that worked before may not be the routines you need right now.Hey Reader, A few weeks from now, my husband and I will be heading to Cayucos for a week by the beach. The goal isn't to work from a different location. The goal is to take a genuine break. But what's interesting is what happens before a week away. Projects need to be wrapped up earlier. Content needs to be scheduled. Decisions need to be made ahead of time. Tasks that would normally happen next week suddenly need to happen this week. In other words, the season changes before the vacation even begins. And it got me thinking about how often we assume something is wrong when a routine no longer fits. We tell ourselves we're losing momentum. Getting distracted. Falling behind. But sometimes nothing is wrong at all. Sometimes life simply changed. And when life changes — even for wonderful reasons — our routines often need to change, too. Many of us spend far too much energy trying to "get back on track" when what we really need is a new track altogether. Summer is a perfect example. The days are longer. Family activities increase. Travel opportunities appear. The garden needs attention. The weather invites us outdoors. Life expands. Yet many of us continue trying to squeeze all of that into routines designed for a completely different season. No wonder things start to feel off. The question isn't, "How do I make my old routine work again?" The better question is: "What does this season need from me?" In this week's article, I share three simple questions that can help you answer that—and explain why adapting your routines isn't a sign of inconsistency. It's often a sign of wisdom. 👉 Read the full article here: When Your Routine No Longer Fits the New Season Here's what I hope you'll remember: A routine is a tool, not a contract. Its purpose is to support you. And when it no longer supports your current reality, you don't have to force it to keep working. You can create a rhythm that fits the season you're actually living. Your Action Step this WeekTake five quiet minutes and answer this question: What is one expectation you're carrying from a previous season that no longer fits your life right now? Write it down. Then replace it with a new expectation that reflects the season you're actually in. Maybe that's a different pace. Maybe it's a different schedule. Maybe it's a different definition of success. Whatever it is, give yourself permission to choose what fits now. Because sustainable success doesn't come from forcing yourself into an outdated routine. It comes from creating rhythms that support the life you're living today. 💛 Insider & VIP CornerThis month's Mini Power Tool is the Tenacious WFH Summer Flex Plan, designed to help you build a business that fits your life — not competes with it. Why the Space Between Effort and Results Feels So Uncomfortable — and What To Do About It Hey Reader, There comes a point in almost every business owner's journey when things start to feel a little confusing. You're showing up. You're doing the work. You're staying consistent. You're focusing on the right things. And yet ... The results don't seem to match the effort you're putting in. Not yet, anyway. If you've ever found yourself wondering whether something is wrong because progress feels...
Why simplifying your focus isn’t laziness — it’s one of the smartest growth decisions you can make Hey Reader, Let me just get this out there, right off the bat: Some of your work matters more than the rest. There’s something I notice a lot with work-from-home entrepreneurs — especially women. And it's our tendency to "default" to adding more when something starts working. More ideas.More platforms.More projects.More things to “keep up with.” At first, it can feel productive. But eventually,...
Why being busy isn’t the same as making progress (especially working from home) Hey Reader, There’s a moment that happens in almost every work-from-home week … You’ve been moving all day. Answering emails. Checking things off. Starting and finishing small tasks in between everything else life is asking of you. And at the end of the day, you think: “I was busy … so why does it feel like nothing really moved forward?” If you’ve ever had that thought, you’re not alone. And more importantly?...
