Give Yourself Credit — A Gentle Boost for Your End-of-Year Confidence Reader, I want to start this week with a moment you might recognize … You sit down at your desk with a fresh cup of coffee, ready to take on the day — and instead of celebrating the three things you finished yesterday, your brain immediately serves up a highlight reel of everything that isn’t done yet. The client update you meant to write. The half-finished email sequence. The pile of sticky notes multiplying like gremlins. If that sounds familiar, you’re in good company — because almost every work-from-home entrepreneur I know (myself included) experiences this same mental mismatch. We measure ourselves by what’s undone, not by what’s becoming. But here’s the truth your brain keeps forgetting: You are doing more than you think — and you deserve credit for all of it. Your Growth Isn’t Always Loud (But It’s Always There)This time of year, especially, everything can feel like a race to the finish. But growth doesn’t only show up as big wins or flashy productivity streaks. Sometimes growth looks like:
Think of yourself like a late-fall garden — quieter on the surface, but strengthening roots beneath the soil. Your progress may not be Instagram-pretty, but it is absolutely happening. Self-Compassion Isn’t Being “Soft” — It’s SmartGen X women are exceptionally good at pushing through. We were trained to be scrappy, independent, capable … sometimes to our own detriment. But sustainable success — the kind that doesn’t leave you crispy by February — comes from grace, not grit alone. Grace gives you:
And maybe most importantly, it brings you back to a place where you can see yourself accurately — strong, resourceful, and rising. Your Action Step this WeekThank yourself out loud. Yep. Out loud. (Your dog won’t judge you — mine certainly doesn’t.) Here's what I suggest:
It may feel a little awkward, like buying school supplies in November just because they make you happy — but it works. You’re retraining your brain to recognize your progress in real time. ✨Want to go deeper? And if you want the full story behind this week’s theme, you can read the full article, Give Yourself Credit — You’re Doing More Than You Think, anytime. Reader, you really are doing more than you think. I’m proud of you — now it’s your turn to be proud of you, too. 💛

Reconnecting With the Part of You That Runs the Business Hi Reader, If you’ve been back at your desk lately — technically working, technically productive — but something still feels a little off, let me gently reassure you: You’re not broken. You’re not behind. And you didn’t “lose your edge.” What you may be experiencing is something far more human — and far more common for women like us. We’re excellent at wearing many hats. On any given day, we might move between caregiver, partner,...
January Productivity Without the Spiral Hi Reader, Have you ever sat down at your desk — coffee in hand, laptop open — and felt your brain just … stall? Not in a dramatic way.More like it’s quietly buffering. You’re not unmotivated. You’re not behind. You’re just not sure where to resume. This is one of the most common (and least talked about) January productivity challenges for work-from-home women: not knowing where to start again after a pause. And when that uncertainty shows up,...
Anchored, Not Restarting: A Gentler Way to Begin the Year in Your Business It happens quietly, doesn’t it Reader? You sit down to work in January — same desk, same business, same capable brain — and yet you feel just a little off. Not unmotivated. Not stuck. Just not fully back in rhythm yet. And almost immediately, that familiar pressure creeps in:Shouldn’t I feel more ready than this? If that thought has crossed your mind this week, I want to gently reframe it for you.
