Sustainable Work From Home Productivity in Real Life Reader, there’s something almost automatic that happens when a routine starts to feel harder. We assume it’s us. We think things like: But most of the time? Nothing is wrong. Your energy shifted. Your season changed. Life interrupted. Your capacity adjusted. And instead of recalibrating, we scrap the whole thing — very “new planner, new app, new Monday” energy. But here’s what I want you to consider this week: Maybe your routine isn’t broken. Maybe it just needs resizing. When you work from home, your environment isn’t static. Some days you’re sharp and focused. Other days you’re juggling appointments, family needs, hormone shifts, or an unexpected vet visit. Energy fluctuates. That doesn’t mean your rhythm has to disappear. Sustainable work from home productivity isn’t about doing everything the same way every day. It’s about returning — in a way that works for today. If a routine feels heavier than it used to, ask yourself three simple questions:
That last one is powerful. If your 45-minute planning block isn’t happening, maybe the flex version is glancing at your top three priorities. If deep work feels impossible, maybe you outline instead of draft. If your end-of-day reset feels overwhelming, maybe it’s just closing browser tabs and writing tomorrow’s first task. You don’t abandon the wave. You adjust your stance. In this week’s blog article, I walk you through how to design routines that flex with your energy — and how to adjust what’s not working without turning it into a character flaw. If your rhythm has felt off lately, it’ll help you recalibrate without starting over. But even if you don’t click through, hold onto this: Your energy will fluctuate, but your rhythm can remain. One creates pressure. The other builds trust. And trust — not intensity — is what creates sustainable momentum. Your Action Step this WeekSet aside 10 calm minutes. Identify one routine that’s felt harder lately. Ask: What shifted? Then define a smaller flex version that still counts. Finally, finish this sentence in writing: “This month, consistency means ____________, not perfection.” That one sentence will change how you show up. ✨Want to go deeper? Before You Change Anything, Take a Closer Look at What’s Already Working Hey Reader, A few weeks ago, I made limoncello from scratch. Nothing fancy — just lemons from our backyard, a carefully chosen vodka (my winemaker husband took that part very seriously 😄), sugar, water … and time. It turned out really good. So I gave a bottle to my mom, and a few days later she texted: “Did you REALLY make this … because it’s SO good!” After we cleared up that she wasn’t accusing me of secretly buying...
You Don’t Need a Bigger Plate — Just Better Decisions Reader, last weekend, I stood in my backyard staring at my raised garden beds, seriously considering adding another one. More space. More plants. More possibility. It sounded like a great idea. But instead, I stayed with what I already had — and made myself do the harder thing: I chose what actually deserved to be planted. And I’ll be honest … that felt a lot more uncomfortable than building another bed. Because choosing means not choosing...
When Growth Means Making Space How work-from-home entrepreneurs can thin their commitments so the right work has room to thrive. Hi Reader, Last weekend I stepped into the backyard with a packet of seeds and a trowel, ready to start planting this year's garden. If you’ve ever gardened, you know the moment. There’s something hopeful about those tiny seeds — rows of possibility waiting to grow. But in my garden, every year something else happens, too ... Volunteer tomato plants show up. Lots of...
