When It’s Time to Stop Standing at the Crossroads Hey Reader, One of the things I love most about my morning walks with Max is that they allow me to turn my brain off for awhile. Interestingly enough, that's when I have some of my most powerful thoughts and insights! Recently, I've been thinking about how often life — and business — asks us to choose. Every day, Max and I reach the same corner in our neighborhood. From there, we can turn left, turn right, or continue straight toward the park. Before we take the next step, there's always a brief pause. Last week, we talked about the importance of that pause. It's where we ask better questions, notice our options, and give ourselves space to think instead of simply reacting. But this week I've been thinking about what happens after the pause. Eventually, we have to choose. And if I'm honest, that's often the hardest part. Not because I don't have enough information. Because I'm hoping that if I wait just a little longer, one option will suddenly become obvious. Spoiler alert ... It rarely does. Most of the meaningful decisions I've made in my business didn't come with complete certainty. They came with just enough clarity to take the next step. One phrase kept coming back to me while I was writing this week's article: Questions create clarity. Decisions create direction. The questions help us understand what's possible. The decision is what actually moves us forward. If you've been carrying the same business decision from one week to the next, I think you'll enjoy this week's article. I share a personal story from my early freelance business about a client decision I delayed for far too long — and what finally helped me move forward. Sometimes hearing someone else's crossroads reminds us we're not the only ones standing at one. Your Action Step this WeekThink about one decision you've been carrying from one Weekly CEO Meeting to the next. Instead of asking yourself what more information you need, ask a different question: "What would the CEO of YOU, Inc. choose?" Then trust yourself enough to take one small step in that direction. You don't have to map out the next five years. You just have to choose the next step. Sometimes that's all leadership requires. 💛 Insider & VIP CornerThis month's CEO Meeting Agenda Mini Power Tool is available exclusively for Tenacious WFH Entrepreneur Insiders and VIPs. A Better Question Can Change Your Direction The path forward may become clearer when you stop rushing toward the first answer. Hey Reader, Every morning, Max and I begin our walk the same way. We leave the house, follow the sidewalk in front of our yard, and head toward the corner at the end of the block. Then we pause. We can continue straight toward the park, turn left for a longer walk, or turn right for the quickest loop around the block. Sometimes we choose based on time or energy....
Busy Employees React. CEOs Think. Why protecting your attention matters more than protecting your time. Hey Reader, Most of us don't begin the day planning to spend hours reacting to interruptions. But somehow it happens. An email arrives. A client has a question. A notification pops up. One quick task leads to another, and before long, we've been busy all morning — but the work we actually wanted to accomplish is still waiting. That realization hit me recently while I was out in the garden. I...
The One Appointment That Changes Everything Hey Reader, Have you ever noticed how easy it is to protect everyone else's time ... while treating your own as completely optional? Most of us wouldn't think twice about showing up for a client meeting. We'd be there a few minutes early, notebook in hand, ready to listen, ask good questions, and help move things forward. But when the appointment is with ourselves? That's often the first thing to disappear when life gets busy. I've been thinking...
