Spark More Connection This Week using this simple trick

Don’t Wait for a Big Event to Reach Out

Hey Reader,

Working from home can be empowering … but also a little isolating.

And during summer — when people are vacationing, kids are home, and routines shift — it’s easy to fall into solo mode without even realizing it.

That’s where this "trick" I discovered with milestones comes in ...

Yes, we usually think of milestones as personal progress markers. But here’s a reframe:

Milestones can be powerful prompts for connection, too.

This week’s blog article dives into how we can use milestones — big and small — as meaningful reasons to reach out to others. Because staying connected doesn’t have to be hard or awkward. It just takes a little intention and a simple excuse to say, “Hey, I was thinking of you.”

In the article, I share 5 simple ways to use milestones as connection starters — but let’s get you started with the first two right here:

1. Text a WFH friend when you hit a mini-goal.

You don’t need a “big announcement” to share a win. A simple “Just submitted my pitch!” or “Finally updated my About page!” message is a great way to stay in touch and feel celebrated — even for the little things.

I do this often, and it’s one of my favorite ways to stay connected with my biz friends who get it.

2. Acknowledge someone else’s milestone.

Saw someone launch something? Hit a business birthday? Celebrate a personal win? Take 30 seconds to leave a thoughtful comment or send a message. A little intentional encouragement goes a long way.

Head to the blog to get all 5 ideas — plus some real-world ways to build connection into your summer in simple, sustainable ways:

Celebrate More. Hustle Less Hey Reader, Ever seen a toddler take their first step? The room erupts. Clapping, cheering, maybe even tears. One tiny step … and we instinctively know it’s a big deal. But somewhere between baby steps and business plans, we stop celebrating progress like that. We wait for big milestones — the revenue leap, the launch, the polished result — and skip right past the smaller wins that actually get us there. This week, I want to challenge that. Because when you’re...

Redefine What Counts as a Milestone and Reinforce Your Momentum and Motivation Hey friend — This week, we’re flipping the script on what counts as a milestone. Because if you're only tracking the big, obvious moments — the product launches, the revenue wins, the dream clients — you might be missing out on the most motivating kind of progress. And that’s exactly why I want to invite you to redefine your milestones. Here’s the truth: Progress isn’t just about final results. It’s about all the...

Mapping Milestones Gives You a Roadmap to Make Real Progress Towards Your Goals Hey Reader, June is here — and with it, graduation caps are flying, Father’s Day is approaching, and calendars are full of weddings, anniversaries, and milestone celebrations of all kinds. But what about your own milestones? In business and in life, we tend to downplay our progress unless it’s attached to a big, public moment. But the truth is, every major achievement is built from smaller, quieter wins — and...
